Problem: Solved

Ok, so I had a real weird problem while I was away from home. hey @onedrive -- I have some tutorial videos in OneDrive that I need to turn into a playlist on my tablet. Is this possible or a pipe dream? — Annette (@daNanner) November 30, 2017 Of course, as of this writing, they still haven't answered me. Nothing I could find related to Microsoft, OneDrive, or any of the other MS apps worked either. This means I had to figure out a solution myself using the tools at hand. Problem Solving Methodology On my Pixel C, VLC wasn't working the way I needed it to, but the other option to view the videos was Plex . Plex???? For playback of videos in OneDrive ? Ok ... Hit Plex, voila! Video lesson played flawlessly. No buffering, no other issues I was experiencing with VLC. But I still really wanted a playlist, ya know. So I remoted into my home computer (because who doesn't, and I couldn't create the playlist in the Plex app, that would have been lucky), via GIP...

Recap: Capture Your 365 Feb 1-7

So, it's already February. How did that happen? I've been really busy at work, so the blogging is a bit behind schedule. Here's some of my shenanigans. I posted a lot on Instagram this past week if you're feeling voyeuristic. February 1: #cy365 February 1 - Two #Hearts beating as one. Recap: Capture Your 365 - Week 4-5

The theme for the week began on the 25th with Resolve . The rest belong to last week's theme of  space -- but not Above and Beyond . If you don't get the reference, watch it  here , or buy it here . And now that I have gotten the requisite geek reference out of my head and onto paper... for your viewing pleasure and constructive criticism, here is Week 4/5 - all mobile photography. January 22: #cy365 Day 22 Color blocking I've been a little bit busy and got behind on my 365 this week. #captureyour365 A photo posted by Annette (@dananner) on Jan 25, 2015 at 2:33pm PST January 23: #cy365 Day 23 On the Third #throwback to my trip to #GriffithObservatory at the end of the year. #captureyour365 #latergram #landscape A photo posted by Annette (@dananner) on Jan 25, 2015 at 2:40pm PST January 24: #cy365 Day 24 Who & What Another throwback to the end of 2014 and another reason I love @htc. This was taken with the split capture option. I...

Recap: Capture Your 365 - Week 3

The prompts this week lent themselves to a few extra selfies and man, the biggest pod of mushrooms I have ever seen. January 15: #cy365 Day 15 First Taste... Of afternoon caffeine. Did you know you can order Sbux iced tea without water and then it actually tastes like Iced Tea?!?!? #mindblown No sweetener either and little ice so I feel like I'm getting my money's worth. #captureyour365 #Pixlr A photo posted by Annette (@dananner) on Jan 15, 2015 at 4:59pm PST January 16: #cy365 Day 16 #snowflake. Recap: Capture Your 365 - Week 2

There will be some weird overlap on themes going forward. Each Sunday, Capture Your 365 starts a new theme, which can also be used as a Capture 52. Last week (starting on Jan 4) the theme was "A Reflection of Me". The theme for January 11-17 is "White". I am going by straight dates for my recaps. For your viewing (and constructive criticism), here is Week 2 - all mobile photography. January 8: #cy365 Day 8 - My Gear The right tool for the right job, right? Obviously my daily driver is my @htc M8, but depending on the situation, at least one of these will find it's way into my bag. All are currently video capable, but it didn't start out that way. I have a Kodak zi8 (remember when they were the new hotness?) for events on dry land, an Olympus Tough II for underwater or less than ideal shooting conditions, and Tony Stark.... Er, my newest addition, a Nikon d5300 which replaced my D80. Not pictured are all of the necessary accessories. #captureyour365 #o...

Recap: Capture Your 365 - Week 1

I started a Year 38 365 on Flickr (still need to curate it a bit more, don't be disappointed at the lack of photos, they are still residing in auto backup, awaiting deletion or curation) for my Project 365, and then one of the members of Smartphone Photographers posted about Capture Your 365 . One of the problems I have consistently had with completing my Project 365 is that I run out of inspiration about two weeks in. This year, with someone else coming up with the topics, I might be able to keep the steam going, instead of running out of it. For your viewing (and constructive criticism), here is Week 1 - all mobile photography. Day 1: Good morning 2015! sunrise and coffee #cy365 #oneography #foodphotography A photo posted by Annette (@dananner) on Jan 1, 2015 at 11:28pm PST Day 2: #cy365 Day 2: Think Over. I was in Seal Beach yesterday and came to a dead stop in front of Sweet Jill's Bakery when I saw this. I thought about going in right aw...

Unusual May Weather

It was a dark and stormy. .. day. It rained in L.A. today. Usually it's hot, OK 75-80 degrees F and people are looking forward to swimming pools opening over the Memorial Day weekend. I'm still wearing my winter coat and not overheated at all. Yes, that is a light dusting of snow on the foothills. Summer, where art thou?

Do Not Cross 28/365

An announcement was made over the P.A. system stating that there had been an accident at Del Amo station and both north- and southbound trains had to share a track (delays, delays, delays). By the time my northbound train reached Del Amo, nothing remained of the accident except a few sherrifs and yellow crime tape. I wonder what the accident was to warrant the use of crime tape ... sent using a G1 Update: LA Times reports: 11:38 AM, January 28, 2009 Authorities are investigating the death of a man who was killed this morning when he fell from the platform of a Metro station near Carson and was hit by a train. The unidentified man fell between two cars of the southbound Blue Line and was run over about 9 a.m., when the train left the Del Amo Station for Long Beach, said Dave Sotero, a spokesman for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. A person standing on the platform alerted the conductor of a northbound Blue Line train, which had just arrived at the station, that so...
