New Year's Eve on the Queen Mary

First, some history. Growing up we watched Dick Clark's Rockin' Eve. In college, it was usually spent with friends and later, as family life took over, movie marathons and shindigs to get us to midnight. New Year's Eve for me the last few years has been hit or (mostly) miss. Not to mention all the sickness I have kept at bay for the year inevitably catches up to me the week between Christmas and New Year's. NYE 2010 it was a kidney infection , no drinking for me. NYE 2011 I had the flu, or at least flu-like symptoms, so we stayed home.  NYE 2012 I  went to Knott's Berry Farm  with my mom. IP was with her dad and the SO was back East. Last year we practically froze at Boston's First Night and went home early where we could eat Chinese food in warmth and comfort (apparently that's a New England thing). The point is, I'm not a big party person when it comes to NYE. On the other hand, my S.O. is a huge party person. He's finally accepted t...

Spring is in the air!

Tomorrow I'll be enjoying classic SoCal spring weather at Knott's Berry Farm. In celebration of Spring Break they have a ton of fun, family-oriented things to do. And wine tasting for the moms and dads. Get ready to bloom! Warmer weather means enjoying the great outdoors, which is just what the Peanuts characters are doing in “Peanut’s Party in the Park,” a new interactive live show located in Charleston Circle. This musical revue includes some of today’s top ten tunes that will have you singing along.     Looking for a little friendly competition with friends? Then head over to Knott's Boardwalk area for the big game, the Big Boardwalk Board Games that is. It’s game time to the extreme as everyone becomes oversized game pieces in some of their favorite board games. From dominoes to tick-tack-toe – it’s game on!     For all those who get into art, Knott's invites you to do so, literally. At the Grande 3-D Art Show at the Silver Bullet midway,...

Ringing in the New Year with the Peanuts Gang

Happy New Year, Charlie Brown! If you're still looking for a family friendly event for New Year's Eve, I would seriously consider Knott's Berry Farm . I'll be going there tonight with my mom even though the park has been open since 10AM. If I had my daughter with me, we might have made a day and night of it (talk about aching feet and back!) I'm going to make sure I catch both It's Christmas, Snoopy and H appy New Year, Charlie Brown!  It's been a long year and I'm more than happy to end it on a fun note. Knott’s Berry Farm will have something for the entire family this New Year’s Eve with a variety of dance music, a family-friendly comedian magician, Clueless Remix Featuring DJ Reesso, a trip back to the ‘70’s with Elton John – The Early Years, line dancing and salsa dancing. All this plus Knott’s rides, attractions and a Midnight Mayhem Fireworks Show in Calico Square will make Knott’s New Year’s Eve celebration the place to ring in 2013. ...

Twogether is Better at Knott's Berry Farm

Truth be told, I have never, ever in all my life been to Knott's Berry Farm. Which is kinda crazy when you think that my favorite syrup in the world is Knott's Boysenberry syrup . I have always wanted to go -- I was raised on the Peanuts Gang, but by high school the cool place was Six Flags (and Disneyland). My daughter has been begging to go to Soak City for a few years, and I am pretty sure my son went with his dad last summer. I finally have the chance to make Knott's as much a part of my life as Disneyland. And I'll be dragging my mother with me. This February Knott’s Berry Farm will be celebrating the season of love with special events for teens and kids as well as discounted pricing when you bring a friend. New boy band  Midnight Red  will perform on Calico Square Stage 2/18. February wouldn't be complete without special  "Twogether is Better" food deals including "Double Dawg Love" at Pink’s and a chocolate dipping station in Ghos...
