Tomorrow I'll be enjoying classic SoCal spring weather at Knott's Berry Farm. In celebration of Spring Break they have a ton of fun, family-oriented things to do. Endeavour is expected to be on display at the California Science Center fall 2012. Once the science center receives it, the shuttle will be placed in a temporary enclosure for display until the new exhibit wing is completed. --  ABC7 My daughter recently went on a field trip to the California Science Center (when I was a kid, it was the Museum of Science and Industry ) and now I have a reason to drag her back  take her myself. It was one of my favorite places to go as a kid. Hands-on geekiness  experiments! After her report about Mars, I think she'll be even more interested in getting to see the space shuttle live and in person. If she's not all that into it, too bad! I wanted to be an astronaut, so I will go just to pretend I am fulfilling a childhood dream. Tweet

I had a FABULOUS weekend, even if I did end up gaining a pound this past week. The Hunk and I have been talking about camping for over a year now, I love it, but haven't had anyone to go with. My son didn't think I was capable of doing it even though I used to take him. Apparently getting my nails and hair done these days disqualifies me from being able to "rough it". A few weeks ago The Hunk was trying to surprise me with a reservation but wasn't having any luck. Research goddess that I am, I found an open beach-side reservation at McGrath State Beach . Before we got there, I didn't know that the campground would be  closing soon . Our only criteria (by the time we got frustrated with Reserve America's reservation system), was beach and open some weekend in May. And not too far from Santa Barbara. Tweet Well, it's STILL raining in SoCal. I forget what day it is. I know it's been raining since last Thursday or Friday. My feet got soaked on Friday. Don't wear boots with "flexible soles" if the weather is inclement. And no heel. Flat and comfortable, but the wet socks and feet weren't worth it.
