January 2018 Project 365 Recap

Driven to finish  (and the photo used for the prompt "Alone") All of my photos for January 2018 were taken using my current phone (and the camera that is always with me) - a Google Pixel 2XL and edited using Snapseed. I was going to compile this post using Storify, but with their impending demise, it was suggested that I use Wakelet . So far, I like it. There are 31 photos being pulled from Instagram, so give it a minute.

Recap: Capture Your 365 Feb 1-7

So, it's already February. How did that happen? I've been really busy at work, so the blogging is a bit behind schedule. Here's some of my shenanigans. I posted a lot on Instagram this past week if you're feeling voyeuristic. February 1: #cy365 February 1 - Two #Hearts beating as one. I <3 <3 The Doctor. #captureyour365 #DoctorWho #Doctorswithoutborders #teefury A photo posted by Annette (@dananner) on Feb 3, 2015 at 3:13pm PST February 2: #cy365 February 2 - Blurred Background #pink #flowers #captureyour365 #depthoffield #oneography A photo posted by Annette (@dananner) on Feb 3, 2015 at 3:15pm PST February 3: #cy365 February 3 - Where I Stand. Recap: Capture Your 365 - Week 4-5

The theme for the week began on the 25th with Resolve . The rest belong to last week's theme of  space -- but not Above and Beyond . If you don't get the reference, watch it  here , or buy it here . And now that I have gotten the requisite geek reference out of my head and onto paper... for your viewing pleasure and constructive criticism, here is Week 4/5 - all mobile photography. January 22: #cy365 Day 22 Color blocking I've been a little bit busy and got behind on my 365 this week. #captureyour365 A photo posted by Annette (@dananner) on Jan 25, 2015 at 2:33pm PST January 23: #cy365 Day 23 On the Third #throwback to my trip to #GriffithObservatory at the end of the year. #captureyour365 #latergram #landscape A photo posted by Annette (@dananner) on Jan 25, 2015 at 2:40pm PST January 24: #cy365 Day 24 Who & What Another throwback to the end of 2014 and another reason I love @htc. This was taken with the split capture option. I...

Recap: Capture Your 365 - Week 3

The prompts this week lent themselves to a few extra selfies and man, the biggest pod of mushrooms I have ever seen. January 15: #cy365 Day 15 First Taste... Of afternoon caffeine. Did you know you can order Sbux iced tea without water and then it actually tastes like Iced Tea?!?!? #mindblown No sweetener either and little ice so I feel like I'm getting my money's worth. #captureyour365 #Pixlr A photo posted by Annette (@dananner) on Jan 15, 2015 at 4:59pm PST January 16: #cy365 Day 16 #snowflake. Total cop out because "it never rains in Southern California 🎶 🎶 🎶", let alone snow. But I did wear a pair of snowflake earrings on NYE. #throwback #captureyour365 A photo posted by Annette (@dananner) on Jan 16, 2015 at 7:35pm PST January 17: #cy365 Day 17 - #Powdery On my quest to getting and staying healthy, I've discovered all sorts of new foods and multiple uses for one that seems to be one of the most versatile foods ever...

Recap: Capture Your 365 - Week 2

There will be some weird overlap on themes going forward. Each Sunday, Capture Your 365 starts a new theme, which can also be used as a Capture 52. Last week (starting on Jan 4) the theme was "A Reflection of Me". The theme for January 11-17 is "White". I am going by straight dates for my recaps. For your viewing (and constructive criticism), here is Week 2 - all mobile photography. January 8: #cy365 Day 8 - My Gear The right tool for the right job, right? Obviously my daily driver is my @htc M8, but depending on the situation, at least one of these will find it's way into my bag. All are currently video capable, but it didn't start out that way. I have a Kodak zi8 (remember when they were the new hotness?) for events on dry land, an Olympus Tough II for underwater or less than ideal shooting conditions, and Tony Stark.... Er, my newest addition, a Nikon d5300 which replaced my D80. Not pictured are all of the necessary accessories. #captureyour365 #o...

Recap: Capture Your 365 - Week 1

I started a Year 38 365 on Flickr (still need to curate it a bit more, don't be disappointed at the lack of photos, they are still residing in auto backup, awaiting deletion or curation) for my Project 365, and then one of the members of Smartphone Photographers posted about Capture Your 365 . One of the problems I have consistently had with completing my Project 365 is that I run out of inspiration about two weeks in. This year, with someone else coming up with the topics, I might be able to keep the steam going, instead of running out of it. For your viewing (and constructive criticism), here is Week 1 - all mobile photography. Day 1: Good morning 2015! sunrise and coffee #cy365 #oneography #foodphotography A photo posted by Annette (@dananner) on Jan 1, 2015 at 11:28pm PST Day 2: #cy365 Day 2: Think Over. I was in Seal Beach yesterday and came to a dead stop in front of Sweet Jill's Bakery when I saw this. I thought about going in right aw...

9/365 Fat Craving

9/365 Fat Craving Originally uploaded by Nannerlady I'm craving onion rings. Which means fat. And grease. So I'm having healthy fat. Damn diet. Good thing I love me some avocados.

5/365 Bad Hair Day

5/365 Bad Hair Day Originally uploaded by Nannerlady My son had a bad hair day on Saturday. I bought him his own trimmer a few years ago in a cost cutting measure. I can't cut hair to save my life, but he's pretty good at it. Except for when the guard falls off.... I suggested he get Airbender tattoos until his hair grows back.

4/365 Jack's Back

4/365 Jack's Back Originally uploaded by Nannerlady Sometimes you need to pay attention to your inner child.

3/365 Artificial alertness

I got a little behind, but that's ok. I'm learning to forgive myself for being human. In the meantime, I only got about 5 hours of sleep and I'm feeling it. I thought I was going to have to hit Starbucks or Mcdonald's, but bless someone's heart, they reordered the Keurig pods and Kona too! I may be able to function today after all. Off to guzzle my coffee now.

2/365 Winter Magic

2/365 Winter Magic Originally uploaded by Nannerlady There is something magical about snow. Especially snow in the desert. In California. Both of my kids LOVE snow. This is perfect snowball making snow. There will be no snowball fights at my house though. It will probably be gone by the time they get home tomorrow from their respective vacations with family members. As fickle as California weather is, it will probably be gone by the time I get home from work today. But it was nice to watch the world get blanketed in white yesterday and wake up having it look just as peaceful and magical.

1/365 Snow Flurries

1/365 Snow Flurries Originally uploaded by Nannerlady I'm going to try Project 365 again. Today it was a little on the cold side since snow was predicted (and delivered!). If you look really closely at my collar you can see a few flakes.

Sweet Roll 28/365

Sweet Roll 28/365 Originally uploaded by Nannerlady Unagi, avocado, and sweet sauce makes me a very happy woman. Lunch with Leslie at Gindi Thai was delish. ~~Annette -- please excuse typos, sent from my phone.

Eye exam 24/365

Eye exam 24/365 Originally uploaded by Nannerlady My children are unique. They enjoy going to the eye doctor and getting glasses even though their prescriptions aren't very strong (in comparison to mine). Though neither one could be convinced to be dilated this time. This is the pleasure I get for having readers =) I do admit, in Josh's case , he needs them for driving, so I am very glad he let me know he was having problems. ~~Annette -- please excuse typos, sent from my phone. 16/365 - Windows Vista display driver error

16/365 - Windows Vista display driver error Originally uploaded by Nannerlady I'm going to scream. This Acer V173 says it works with Windows Vista. A friend rebuilt my mom's computer and installed Vista. Ask me if I know how to support Vista? The answer is no. Ask me if I know which version of Vista shes's running. The answer is no (ok, she's running Home Premium but I don't know if it's 32-bit or 64-bit). So I'm doing the usual. Since it won't *automatically* install the correct driver for a *Plug-and-Play* monitor I went to the Acer website and downloaded the driver. Unzip it. Reboot. Computer finds hardware. Tell it where to find driver. Guess what?! It can't find the driver. An hour later the correct driver for the _motherboard_ is installed and the yellow error question mark in device manager is gone. I reboot into regular windows and ... that damn display driver error is still there. And her monitor flickers, the keyboard and mouse s...

Time with Josh 14/365

14/365 Time with Josh Originally uploaded by Nannerlady No, it's not bring your child to work day, though it might seem like it. Josh had an optometrist appointment litterally down the street from where I work. Afterwards we had lunch together. I had suggested Pit Fire, but ... the kid in him wanted a hot dog. @DC66Steps has told me they have some pretty good dogs. (There goes my diet for today). So here we are. And he's telling me about how he truly feels about pickles. You don't want to know. It will turn your stomach. I love taking pictures of my son even if he doesn't appreciate my enthusiasm. ~~Annette -- please excuse typos, sent from my phone.

"Two for 1" 6/365

"Two for 1" 6/365 Originally uploaded by Nannerlady I couldn't decide which one to pick for my 365. Yesterday was a long day, but pretty amazing. We had to get up early for a doctor's appt. for Josh and on the way down caught the sunrise. That in itself is a minor miracle. I hate getting up before the sun. Later that day I was surprised by the cutest flower arrangement that definitely brought a smile to my face.
