Exhausted

… again. I don’t think I’ve gotten more than 4 or 5 good solid hours of sleep in the last 7 days. Some days even less, only one or two due to insomnia, children with nightmares, or hip/back pain. Despite all of my chiropractic therapy, I’m really afraid that I might be developing arthritis in my hips, knees, and hands. It runs in the family. I’ve had CTS before (had to use a brace for 6 weeks!!! thank goodness someone loaned me Dragon Naturally Speaking at the time. An English Lit major not able to type up her papers … oi!), that was no fun. I’ve given in. between @ jasperblu , @ phraktyl , and two co-workers I am going to try acupuncture. My office-mate gave me the name and number of the doctor he goes to, and she went to the trouble of finding out his rates and if he’s open on Saturdays since she knows that I live out in BFE . Boring and dry, ain't it? I’m hoping to get some time this weekend to soak in a nice hot bath. That’s my incentive to clean (don’t ask and I won’t te...

Chronic Pain

I am always in pain because it's a fact of my life now. I can deal with the dull, low throbbing. That I can ignore and get on with my life with generally no problem. And that much thoracic pain usually causes my IBS to act up. What a way to start the morning. Every morning. And Lord please, the days when my IBS acts up when I am commuting. THAT'S THE WORST, the most mortifyinghorribleembarrasing moments of my life, mainly because I think I have gotten off scott-free for the day. And then, BAM! make a run for the bathroom, the nearest bathroom, any bathroom.   A lot of my stress and high anxiety are caused by my chronic pain and vice versa. A never-ending cycle (not to be confused with the Never-Ending Story ). My chronic pain could be a symptom of clinical depression, but I haven't been diagnosed as s...

Tired, not sick and tired, just tired

I am actually tired of vacuuming. And I like vacuuming, usually. And I am about to beat my daughter. I wonder how my parents convinced me to clean my room? I wonder if I was ever as openly defiant as my daughter? The few times I remember even attempting her current attitude and behavior I had to go cut my own peach switch. And that was all it took. My mom always said I was a fast-learner. Tags: cleaning , kids , discipline
